The statement was published after Monsanto and Syngenta, two of the largest biotech companies in the world, the World Food Prize received.
According to the scientists, "there is no consensus that GM food is safe." Scientific research on GM food suffers from a major imbalance, where "commercial promotion of science technology" takes precedence over thorough investigation into safety of new crops.
The British newspaper The Daily Mail reported Monday on the issue. According to the newspaper scientists warn that the positive studies on GM food messages "were carried out and paid by biotech companies like Monsanto, who have invested millions to get the world. Their crops"
