Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 blockbuster Born In The U.S.A. is the Boss’s biggest, synthiest, least rootsy LP, but it’s rinmaru arguably just as packed with amazing songs as anything the man ever recorded. And on the new tribute compilation Dead Man’s Town , a series of artists from the indie rock and alt-country spheres take on songs from that iconic LP. Blitzen Trapper, Justin Townes Earle, and Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires all contribute songs to the compilation. And we’ve got the stream rinmaru of Minnesota slowcore legends Low doing a meditative, minimal take on Springsteen’s beautiful devotional hymn “ I’m On Fire .” Stream Low’s version below.

Very nice. Such an incredible song. John Mayer also does a cover of this song that I quite like. Even Mumford and Sons, who I really don’t like, did a pretty great cover of this at some awards show.
It’s always been “soul”.
That analogy went way over my head.
